Lancaster hosted Fairfield Union and Tri Valley at the Lancaster YMCA.  The Gales recorded first place finishes in nine of the 11 races. .  Colin Kelly recorded two first place finishes.  Kelly won the 200 Freestyle in 2:01.42 and the 100 Freestyle in 54.4 seconds. Will McMasters swam to a first place finish in the 500 Freestyle in 5:50.02. Jack Hensley was first in the 100 Breaststroke. Josh Murdock recorded a first place finish in the 50 Freestyle in 25.25 seconds. David Geier swam to a first place finish in the 200 IM in 2:17.24 and a second place finish in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:10.02.

Lancaster dominated the relay races.  The Gales took first and second place in the 200 Freestyle relay and 400 Freestyle Relay.  In the 200 Freestyle Relay the team of Will McMasters, Maz Hensley, Jack Hensley and Collin Kelly took first and the team of David Geier, Jimmy Geier, Camden Morris and Josh Murdock took second. In the 400 Freestyle Relay the first place team was Camden Morris, Jack Hensley, Gavid Geier, and Collin Kelly with the second place team being Joe Strigle, Brayden Dennison, Sam Strigle and John Pennington. Lancaster also won the 200 Medley Relay in 1:47.83.  Relay team members were Will McMasters, Max Hensley, Jack Hensley and Camden Morris. Jimmy Geier recorded a second place finish in the 50 Freestyle in 25.32 and a third place finish in the 100 Butterfly in 1:20.73. Max Hensley swam to a second place finish in the 100 Backstroke in 1:03.22. Camden Morris recorded a second place finish in the 100 Butterfly in 1:13.47.  John Pennington recorded third place finishes in the 200 IM in 2:45.56 and the 100 Backstroke in 1:18.01.  Sam Strigle swam to third place in the 200 Freestyle in 2:25.77 and 500 Freestyle in 6:57.03

The Lady Gales split a home meet with Fairfield Union and Tri Valley.  Mia Hensley won the 50 Freestyle in 26.13 seconds and the 100 Backstroke in 1:02.55.  Amelia Robertson won the 500 Freestyle in 6:22.64 dropping over 21 seconds from her precious best time. Robertson also finished second in the 200 Freestyle in 2:23.91. The Lady Gales 200 Medley Relay of Mia Hensley, Marleen Byers, Gracie Stuart, and Drea Echard finished first in 2:11.65. Marleen Byers finished third in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:24.57. Gracie Stuart swam to third place finishes in the 200 IM in 2:54.05 and the 100 Butterfly in 1:25.82. The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Amelia Robertson, Gracie Stuart, Caroline Conklin and Mia Hensley swam to a second place finish in 4:35.10. The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Amelia Robertson, Marleen Byers, Drea Echard, and Kyra Walling finished third in 2:13.25.

Lancaster traveled to New Albany to compete in a non conference meet.  The Gales were led by Jack Hensley who recorded second place finishes in the 200 IM in 2:06.17 and the 100 Backstroke in 58.49 seconds. Max Hensley recorded a second place finish in 100 Breastroke in 1:04.53 and a third place finish in the 500 Freestyle in 5:18.14.  Both Hensley boys were part of the 200 Yard Medley Relay that finished second in 1:46.44.  The other members of the relay were Wil McMasters and David Geier.  Camden Morris swam to a third place finish in the 100 Freestyle in 58.74.

The Lady Gales took on the defending OHSAA Division I state champion Eagles.  Lancaster Senior, Mia Hensly won the 200 IM in 2:10.97.  She also recorded a second place finish in the 500 Freestyle in 5:19.96.  Drea Echard  swam to a third place finish in the 50 Freestyle in 31.46. Amelia Robertson, Marleen Byers, Mia Hensley and Kyra Walling recorded a third place finish in the 200 Yard Medley Relay in 2:13.63.

The Lancaster swim teams traveled to Ohio University to compete against Athens and Tri Valley.  Both the boys and the girls teams split their meet with one win and one loss.

The girls started the meet with a first place finish in the 200 Medley Relay in 2:02.37.  Amelia Robertson, Gracie Stuart, Mia Hendsley, and Kendall Cox swam for the Lady Gales.  Hensley then won the 100 Butterfly in 1:01.92 and the 500 Freestyle in 5:26.11. Cox won the 100 Freestyle race in 1:04.87. Lancaster took the top three spots in the 100 Breaststroke.  Marleen Byers won in 1:24.53 with Gracie Stuart taking second and Caroline Conklin finishing third.  Robertson finished second in the 200 Freestyle in 2:21.57.  Cox finished second in the 50 Freestyle.  The team of Cox, Stuart, Roberston and  Mia Hensley finished second in the 200 Freestyle Relay.  In the 100 Backstroke Roberston finished second with Drea Echard finishing third.

The boys team won the 200 Freestyle Relay in 1:39.67.  Team members were David Geier, Camden Morris, Colin Kelly, and Will McMasters.  Jack Hensley won the 100 Backstroke in 58.84 seconds and the 200 IM in 2:06.00. Max Hensley won the 200 Freestyle in 1:53.59. McMasters won the 100 Breaststroke in 1:08.55. The 200 Medley Relay of Jack Hensley, Max Hensley, Josh Murdock and Morris finished second.  The 50 Freestyle saw David Geier finish second and Jimmy Geier finish third.  McMasters finished second in the 100 Butterfly. David Geier finished second in the 100 Freestyle.  Max Hensley recorded a second place finish in the 500 Freestyle. The 400 Freestyle Relay saw Lancaster teams take second and third.  The second place team was Max Hensley, David Geier, Jack Hensley and McMasters.  The third place team was Cambden Morris, Jimmy Geier, Colin Kelly and Josh Murdock.

Lancaster hosted Grove City and Hilliard Darby in dual swim meets.  Jack Hensley finished second in the 100 Fly and 100 Backstroke.  His Fly time was 57.12 seconds and Backstroke was 1:01.69. Brayden Dennison recorded a second place finish in the 100 Freestyle in 1:12.73.  Colin Kelly recorded third place finishes in the 50 Freestyle in 24.97 seconds and the 100 Freestyle in 54.99 seconds. Also recording a third place finish was Will McMasters in the 200 Freestyle in 2:11.24.

Lancaster was led by a first and second place finish in the 50 Freestyle race.  Mia Hensley took first in 26.08 second and Amelia Robertson finished second in 30.8 seconds. Hensley then won the 100 Backstroke in 1:01.70.  Roberston finished her strong night winning the 100 Freestyle in 1:05.65.  Gracie Stuart recorded third place finishes in the 200 Freestyle in 2:31.37 and the 100 Fly in 1:23.33.  Marleen Byers also recorded a third place finish in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:24.87.

Lancaster traveled to Zanesville to participate in a series of dual swim meets.  The Gales kept their strong start to the season and remained undefeated at 8-0.  First place finishes went to Jack Hensley in the 200 IM in 2:11.28 and the 100 Breaststroke  in 1:05.56.  Colin Kelly won the 200 Freestyle in 2:05.57 and the 500 Freestyle in 5:48.47 dropping 14 seconds off his seed time.  Josh Murdocl won the 100 Fly in 1:04.52.  Second place finishes went to David Geier in the 100 Breaststroke, Will McMasters in the 200 IM and 100 Backstroke, Camden Morris in the 100 Freestyle and Murdock in the 200 Freestyle.

The Lady Gales had a strong night in the pool at Zanesville going 3-1 in the evening.  Mia Hensley won the 200 Freestyle in 2:02.49 and 100 Freestyle in 59.15.  Amelia Robertson won the 200 IM in 2:36.34 and the 100 Backstroke in 1:11.29.  Second place finishes went to Marleen Byers in the 100 Breaststroke and Kendall Cox in the 50 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle.

Lancaster traveled to the Union County YMCA to swim against Marysville and Fairbanks High Schools.  It was an impressive night for Freshmen, Jack Hensley and Will McMasters with both swimmers finishing first in multiple races.  Hensley, McMasters, Josh Murdock and David Geier started the meet by winning the 200 Medley Relay in 1:49.95.  Hensley then won the 200 yard Freestyle in 1:59.37 dropping 7 seconds off his seed time. He then won the 500 yard Freestyle in 5:27.30 dropping 18 seconds off his seed time. The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Hensley, Collin Kelly, Murdock and Zach Kette won in 3:56.76. McMasters won the 100 yard Butterfly in 58.43 and the 100 yard Breaststroke in 1:10.19.  Murdock won the 100 yard Backstroke in 1:05.09 and dropping three seconds off his seed time.

The Lady Gales faced their best competition of the season in swimming against Marysville and Fairbanks.  Kendall Cox won the 200 yard Freestyle in 2:27.45 dropping 20 seconds off her seed time.  Mia Hensley won the 100 yard Butterfly in 1:00.42.  The 100 yard Freestyle was won by Amelia Robertson in 1:05.20.  Dropping times for the Lady Gales were Marleen Byers in the 200 yard IM and 500 yard Freestyle and Gracie Stuart in the 100 yard Butterfly and 500 yard Freestyle.

Lancaster travelled to the Pickaway County YMCA to swim against Teays Valley.  The 200 yard Medley Relay of Amelia Robertson. Marleen Byers, Mia Hensley, and Gracie Stuart took first place with a time of 2:09.40.  Roberston then won the 100 yard Butterfly  in 1:19.17 with Stuart taking second.  Mia Hensley won the 500 Freestyle in 5:35.45 and the 100yard Breastroke in 1:17.14.  The Lady Gales took first in the 200 yards Freestyle Relay with Robertson, Kendall Cox, Adasyn Curry, and Mia Hensley swimming a time of 1:57.70.  The 400 yard Freestyle Relay team of Stuart, Drea Echard, Cox and Caroline Conklin took first in a time of 5:05.89.

The Gales had a dominating night in the pool versus Teays Valley. The 200 Medley Relay of Will McMasters, David Geier, Josh Murdock, and Jack Hensley won in a time of 1:52.63.  Colin Kelly won the 200 Freestyle in 2:05.22.  The Gales took first and second in the 100 Butterfly with Murdock winning in 1:03.16 and Geier second. McMasters won the 100 Freestyle  in 54.02 seconds.   In the 500 Freestyle Lancaster took the top three places.  Jack Hensley finished first in 5:50.62 with Josh Murdock taking second and Sam Strigle taking third.  The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Geier, Murdock, Kelly, and McMasters won in 1:39.25.  Kelly, John Pennington, Zach Kette, and Jack Hensley won the 400 Freestyle Relay in 3:55.10.

Season Preview
Lancaster returns to the pool after a successful 2020-21 season in which both the boys and girls teams won the OCC Buckeye Division championships.  The girls team will be led by senior Mia Hensley, a University of Cincinnati commit.  Hensley was an OCC Champion in the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly.  She was also a OHSAA District qualifier in the 100 Butterfly.  Junior Gracie Stuart will contribute individually and was on the OCC Champion 400 Freestyle relay.  Fellow Junior Caroline Conklin will contribute in the breastroke and backstroke. Kendall Cox is new to the Gales and will swim the butterfly races. Sophomores  looking to contribute are  Drea Echard, Kyra Walling, Addie Ross and Marlee Byers. Echard will swim the IM and backstroke, Ross and Walling will swim freestyle, and Byers will be on the top relay team and swim breastroke and fly. Freshma Amelia Robertson should immediately contribute to top relays and swim the butterfly and backstroke.

The boys team has a lot of depth and talented swimmers with an increased number of participants in the freshman and sophomore classes. The Gales have three senior swimmers.  David Geier will swim the breaststroke and was on the 200 freestyle relay that finished as OCC Champions. Josh Murodck has dropped time in all his races from last year with the butterfly being his best race.  Zach Kette will swim the breaststroke and freestyle.  Junior Sam Strigle will step into the top relays and swim breaststroke.  The sophomore class has many talented swimmers.  Colin Kelly was the 500 freestyle OCC Champion and was on the OCC Champion 200 freestyle relay. Jimmy Geier can swim all the strokes in relays and was on the ICC first place 200 freestyle relay team. Johnathan Pennington will focus on the IM and backstroke. Brayden Dennison is brand new to the sport and is swimming well in the sprint races. Max Hensley looks to build off a strong freshman season in which he was the 200yd IM OCC Champion. Four freshmen will contribute in the pool this winter.  Jack Hensley is swimming fast sprint times and will swim distance races and the IM. Will McMasters is off to a strong start and will  immediately contribute to top relays. Camden Morris will swim the freestyle and backstroke sprint races. Joe Strigle is going to contribute in the freestyle short distance races.
